When looking at the success we want in life, it can be easy to become overwhelmed. The whole mountain or full journey stops most people from taking those first crucial steps. That initial action can be scary in the unchartered waters of the unknown, but it is the only place where you can learn how to swim. It is not necessary to have every detail figured out. The most important thing is to specifically decide what you want. That level of clarity will focus your complete attention on all that helps this new and exciting mission. Having a plan, executing it each day and making small daily improvements is the key. When these are compounded at the end of the week, month and year it leads to completely reinventing yourself and gaining to get the momentum necessary for success. Also, this new purpose will produce a passion within yourself that will jumpstart you out of bed each day and force you to grow in ways you never thought possible.
Up Your Personal Stock
Reading books and listening to audiobooks related to your field of interest will improve your ability, grow your confidence, and allow you to give more to your prospective buyer, student, client or customer. Success always leaves clues! Look for the ones written by people who are already where you want to be. You can learn what took someone 20 years of mistakes to obtain, in just one book. Just 10 pages per day equals 10-15 books per year making you an expert in any given field. Readers are leaders!
You Are What You Eat
Just because you are free from disease doesn’t mean you have health. True health is when all your systems are operating at the highest level. This provides the vitality to pursue what is necessary and endure all the physical and mental battles we will face. Start making little changes to your food intake. Don’t we all want more energy, strength, happiness, discipline, and vitality? How about less inflammation, depression, weakness, sickness, and pain? Whole food and water is the medicine provided by nature to nourish our bodies to its fullest capacity.
We can start with drinking more water. 85% of people are chronically dehydrated. 100oz of water per day will loosen up your waist band alone. Next, remove all sugary drinks and white bread. I've had students do just these few things and lose 5-10lbs in a week! Slowly changing habits (i.e., one at a time for a couple of weeks, then adding another) is the key to consistent weight loss and taking back your health. The “All or Nothing” mentality is what cripples the masses, is overwhelming, leads to feelings of deprivation and quitting the quest at hand.
Strength Train to Lose Fat
Adding more weight to the bar will burn more calories, build more muscle, confidence and strength. To lose weight you NEED to lift heavier weights. Adding muscle and losing fat increases your metabolism. For every pound of muscle added, you will automatically burn an extra 50-65 calories per day! Attacking both the muscular and cardio respiratory systems is where the weight loss "magic" truly happens. This combo with the proper progressions and exercise selection; combined with metabolic speed work is what the Training for Warriors System is built on. Taking Action
Making a goal list is always the perfect start. Without goals, all we have is wishes and dreams like everyone else. Write down specifically what you want financially, from your physical body, and your relationships. Then, make a small checklist for each area daily. Before you know it, you will have more money in the bank, a smaller waistband, more strength, and so much momentum that happiness and personal fulfillment is sure to follow!
